Regarding the multiple bites, t...Great information. Regarding the multiple bites, the 5 bites on the leg; I'm not surprised at all. It was very likely just one spider that either got trapped inside the pants leg or was under the sheets and felt trapped while sleeping and rolling on the spider. I had a similar thing with 3 bites all in the same area of my leg. One spider continuing to feel threatened and kept on biting.

I'm very excited to try the charcoal. My solution has always been the bentonite clay with the combination of tinctures: Lobelia, Plantain, and Echinacea. Sometimes I'll even add Goldenseal tincture for its antibiotic properties. This wet clay under a bandage always seems to do the job, rapidly reversing the problem. For little BR bites I'll often just dab some Tea Tree oil on it a couple times over 2 days and that will fix it. But a bigger bite that swells up and gets red and itchy, the clay has worked wonders. Now I'm planning on trying the charcoal and even the suggestion of the crushed/powdered Flax Seed. I woke up with a fairly decent sized BR bite on my arm this morning. We get a few bites a year in our house here in Eastern Missouri. They seem too be very prevalent here. It's our common house spider. And true, they are passive and defensive and ONLY bite when we accidentally press on them in our sleep or when reaching for something on a shelf or in the dark basement or yard shed. And our log pile is full of them. I won't grab any logs before the first big freeze of the year without gloves on.

I'll try to report back and share my experiences. Thanks so much for this wonderful and incredibly helpful thread. I'm amazed at how many people here in St. Louis, MO don't know what to do with these bites and go to the hospital for an antibiotic.

Be safe!

BradAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08294352390366082059noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-85182616681745257652014-11-29T08:20:32.989-06:002014-11-29T08:20:32.989-06:00There is a serum for black widow that hospitols ca...There is a serum for black widow that hospitols can give..if they have it. Not many do - even in regions where they are common - like ours. its pretty crazy to think that would be overlooked as standard issue in hopsitols in this day and age...but it is not - according to my research. As far as I now - there is no serum for brown recluse or hobo.MommySetFreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09108945088100513996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-54045297192384232912014-11-29T08:17:39.726-06:002014-11-29T08:17:39.726-06:00Alicia,

An itching and soreness - like a bad bruise and burning sensation. The last three symtoms can happen seperatley or together or be missing. In other words, someone may itch and burn, but not has soreness. SOmeone else may not itch - but burn instead. But the red circle expanding out is always present, then as it advances, a streak of read will connect to a near by vain and start tracing toward the heart. Sometimes there is swelling, then the flesh starts rotting away at the center of the circle (at the bite's point of entry), and expand outward like the radious of the circle. Usually when it reaching this point - the hospitols will treat it similar to gangreen and recommend amputation. (Depending on where the bite is located.) I am referring to POISIONOUS spider bites from brown recluse, black widow or hobo spiders. These do not form a rash and depending on a person's immune system, their reation to the venum and the deverity of the bite..this can be life threatening or possibly result in amputation. I have ssen the flesh root away fro the inside from such bites. I had a friend hospitalized which let to complications and death in the end. I don't think it would be wise to "let it go" or just apply ice to this type of bite. (Which is a insufficient home remedie.) Ont he other hand, I have seen, treated and witnessed and heard testimonies of about 50 people who have used this and every single one - no exceptuons - has seen healing and reversal of the venom running and spreading... so I would please ask you to reconsider all the information at hand. A
regula spinder bite and other bug bites....sure...let'm go - but a little ice on to numb the itch or comfort a sting...but this is quite another type of bite.MommySetFreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09108945088100513996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-16887118233147209012014-11-29T07:49:27.684-06:002014-11-29T07:49:27.684-06:00Leslie,

I don't have an opipnion on it sonce I have not yet applied the idea. Have you tried it on seriously poisionous spider bites (like brown recluse, hobo or black widow?) or the milder ones? I would be open trying it on myself one day and comparing...since I know I have a proven tried and true method on hand at my figure tips if it does not work for me..and my expeirance with it eases my conscience on what to watch for. Thanks for the tip! I didn't say they were outside and ...Anonymous,
I didn't say they were outside and "running around attacking in numbers". I thought it was pretty "riduculous" too that I got 5 bites at a time!! However, true none the less, whether you choose to accept it or not. I said I wasn't sure when I was bitten and that I suspected the field, (because I was hiking in LOTS of tall grass with bare legs below the knee and remember shooing something)...and I also suggested that it could have been while I was asleep at home cozy in my bed. I will never know WHEN it happened, it mght not have been in either of those places. They are small and stealthy and can go undetected, even after a bite. A single spider can bite more than once, and will if he is disturbed. You are right - they do not go looking for trouble - they are not an aggressive spider in that respect. Yet people DO suffer bites, especially in our region. I like to think of a BR as a grouchy old man who does not like his space invaded - so they snap when it is.

Anyway - I have been biten every summer/fall (often more than once) since I have lived rural TN, on our farm. I have never been bitten or known anyone to be bitten in the winter for some reason. Warm weather seems to "bring them out". It is no biggy though since I know how to treat them with the charcoal. I have treated others too. One was a friend at a campground so they don't seem to mind the great outdoors - they can always find little places to hide.

I have seen the culprit(s) in other bite-instances (after this post) leaving the scene of the crime and the bites were exactly the same...so I know that I did not misdiagnose the culprit of this particular event - even though I did not witness him.

I do not know where your mother lives or what her climate or circumsatnces are. AC may keep them at bay - I do not know. I do not presume to speak about what I do not know. However, I do choose to speak about what I DO know....and that is how to treat a bite when you DO get it..because for some REDICULOUS reason..I get them (and so do others I know.)

I hope your momma never gets bit, but if she does - please consider this method of treating it. It IS effective and much better than what the hospitol offers. Have a blessed day.MommySetFreehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09108945088100513996noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-53252375027600732102013-07-23T01:50:33.274-05:002013-07-23T01:50:33.274-05:00Seems strange that brown recluse spiders would be ...Seems strange that brown recluse spiders would be outside running around and attacking in numbers. Sounds nothing like that spider. They get their recluse name because they like to stay well hidden and not outside. They are shy and don't run after people. Getting bitten 5 times by one of those is ridiculous. My mother has a brown recluse infestation in her walls. And I question the truth of this post.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-52220470432736697452012-05-30T16:46:15.912-05:002012-05-30T16:46:15.912-05:00I had bad experience with brown recluse, it's ...I had bad experience with brown recluse, it's worst spider..it's bite can put you in hospital for twenty days...horrible..Brown Recluse Spider bitehttp://www.spiderbitesymptomsguide.com/brown-recluse-spidernoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-76952373597615431742011-08-24T02:04:31.218-05:002011-08-24T02:04:31.218-05:00Oh how nice this would have been to have read this...Oh how nice this would have been to have read this about a month ago! I was stung by a scorpion (2nd time for me in a year.) Thankfully, they are not deadly, just irritating. I tried to syphon the poison, but I absolutely could not find the poison's point of entry for the life of me. My foot was swollen, numb, irritated... I will definitely need to keep this 'activated charcoal' on the front of my mind. :).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7303462433904424263.post-78364053983548288792011-07-11T06:56:23.742-05:002011-07-11T06:56:23.742-05:00Wow Cindy! I did not know "what" was the organ to get compromised if things progressed (kidney)- so I really appreciate your information and knowing to watch urine. The more details and the better! That is very helpful!

I am doing very well - but still peek at my spots. 4 of the 5 bites are very hard to even find any more (any evidence is invisable) one you can still see the mark but their is no sign of infection or posion any longer. I really think we "did good" on this. (But will remain attentive to my body's cues.)

Praise YHVH!
