Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

Wise Words for Parents - Stirring up Strife

Many years ago, I came across a chart which is packed full of wisdom. So I thought I would share it with you. (I also add a couple nugs here and there.) The approach of this series, is to train the heart of your children, by helping them recognise what error of their ways and steer them in a the right direction. I am going to share this series of wisdom with you, one topic at a time (in alphabetical order for convenience). This will serve a wonderful review and aid to me once again in my own parenting and my own walk and will hopefully help encourage you in yours as well.

Identifying the problem:
Aggravating, Stirring Up Strife,
or Picking on Others

Probing the heart with a couple questions:

1. Are you trying to be a peacemaker or are you stirring up trouble?
2. How can you show love and pursue peace in this situation?
Scriptural Reproof on Strife:
There are six things that YHVH hates, seven that are an abomination to him haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Prov 6:16-19

Scriptural Encouragement on Peacemaking:
Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy. Prov 12:20
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses. Prov 10:12
Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it. Pslam 34:14
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Phil 2:3
