Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

I AM (10) - Worship

Photo taken by sister, Hailey (12)

The following is a recording of songs that Elijah own song recorded on our computer (with a really crumby mic!). Elijah started playing piano when he was 6, and last year he wanted to learn to play the guitar (all for the purpose of worshiping YHVH). He plays on the guitar His Grandpa David got him. With a little help of daddy (who is learning at the same time) and lots of self motivation and practice on his own in the last few months especially, he has put together this list of songs. We thought we would share it with you. The singers on "Be still" are him and 4 of his siblings, Hailey, Naomi(6), Gideon(4), Eliana(4). All the guitar and vocals are Elijah. Papa said, he had to have a title for his new "album", so we are calling it

With Love,

Thank you for sharing!! I see a beautiful metaphor of the young, tender voice and talent being lifted up.. as we should all be.
The photo is nice also! Title reminds me of another 'I Am...'
Have you all already read the book 'I Am David' ? It's also a movie; but the book is better (my girls tell me!). Might want to check it out if you haven't already.

Oh Pamela, how precious to hear your son (and children) glorifying YHWH. Such talent needs to be encouraged, so please tell him to playing and writing as Yah leads him. thank you for sharing! Blessings ~ Carmen

Elijah, Greetings with The Love of YHWH. I have been blessed and encouraged with your playing & singing praises to YaHWeH here on your family's web site. I liked "Washed In The Water" most of all. It reminded me of the many times of Emersion that we have taken part in over the last few years. ha lel u YaH !! Thank you sooo much and keep praising YaH with your heart and gifts. Joyfully, Curtis

How awesome! I am very impressed, Elijah. Next time our families get together, you'll have to give Chris some encouragement to play more. He has more of a case of "stage fright" than anything else that keeps him from playing for anyone else outside of our family. Hopefully we can all exhalt Him in worship together sometime soon. Blessings and Shalom, Kim Rickman

Wow! Elijah this is great singing. Your clear voice proclaiming YHVH's truth is very inspiring. Thanks for the effort and practice. I know the finger tips hurt when you play guitar but its worth it in the end when you can communicate your love for God and His blessings with music from the heart.
Linda and I hope to get to visit you this summer. It is one of our goals for 2011. We will anticipate hearing you play in person when we get there.

Shabbat Shalom,
the Landises

Shalom Elijah. This is Tom Washburn. To refresh your memory, I came out with my family to help your father with a certain 8th day situation for your younger brother. I am not sure that this blog will be able to hold all the words of encouragement that I want to share with you. For history, I will tell you that I had a "friend" show me three chords when I was in college ... about age19. With those three chords, I could play alot of songs. I also remember trying to join in with someone who was "leading" praise and worship and they told me to stop playing because it was distracting them. "NEVER STOP PLAYING" ... unless YHWH tells you to. I have also played with professional guys who are incredible with what they can do on a fret board. The problem is that, usually, it becomes a performance. Your calling is to Praise YHWH, and lead other people to do it also. Play skillfully? Of course; it is Scriptural. Look it up. But don't get so "skillful" that you become prideful in your skill. I remember one man who came to our home who was a professional guitarist. He asked me to play a song for him!!! He then picked up his guitar and joined me. The whole house praised the Father in song. Although he could have "left me in the dust", he let me play some chords while he "improvised". It was beautiful. Why? Because he did not want to be "the man". We praised YHWH. Now, you go and do likewise. I look forward to when we can play together. Shalom to your home, Tom
