Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

Lime Wine Chicken

So easy. SO YUMMY! Its sophisticated, yet the kids love it! This is what I call California Cookin'!

Marinade:

Lime Wine Cooler* (enough to cover the chicken)

2lb boneless, skinless breast

Breading:

1tsp garlic powder

flour (about 1 1/2 C)

salt and pepper to taste

A fresh lime.

*May use any citrus wine cooler. I have used peach too.

  1. Marinate chicken in a wine cooler for at least 30 minutes but a few hours is better.

  2. Mix breading ingredients together in a shallow dish.

  3. Drain chicken and coat well with flour mixture.

Brown chicken in a skillet with oil or butter on a med high heat (depending on your stove) until cooked through. (Always let the first side sit the longest without messing with it too much. You start to see the sides of the chicken getting white and starting to cook up the sides. This give you a nice grilled crisp that is delicious and beautiful. To much flippin and fussin never achieves that.)

Or put chicken in a 9x13 dish with oil or butter in the bottom and bake at 375F for 30 minutes, then turn and bake for 30 minutes more.

At the time of serving, squeeze fresh lime juice over top and serve.

Tasty with buttered or seasoned noodles, rice, rst potatoes, millet or other grain and or green veggie or a salad.

Enjoy!

Okay, this is serious! I am starting to be embarrassed for commenting on so many of your recipes. But,(I say this with sincerity)I want to cook just like you:) You make so many things that sound delicious and look so easy to make.

Great work. Thank you. I'll try to stay out of the comment box for a bit (I did say I'd TRY)...but just know i'll still be lookin' and writing this stuff down!
Blessings

Don't feel bad Traci - I have often thought to move in, let her do the cooking and I will be the gardener...I was just thinking about all her recipes...and Pamela what a blessing you are to us all! Love YOU!

All right now... you all need to knock it off! Your making me blush and I'm not the blushin' type!

Keepin' it real - I'd be lieing if I acted like I didn't appreciate your feed back - because I really do! :-) You bless me with your words and if you try these things and like them them I am doubly blessed!

Andi, you better be careful what you wish for, cuz Yah has a crazy way of making the desires of our hearts come to pass!!

It is our hearts desire to open our farm for some folks long term and for people in transition as the Father moves them, possibly a safe haven if needed. We have no idea how He will do this - but it is part of the vision He has put in us...we'll see how it unfolds! (We are on a need to know basis...following the Spirit every step of the way - WE PRAY!)

Andi, I chuckled when I read your comment because I thought to myself when I posted that I would like to live with Pamela also so she could teach me all her cooking ways...but thought it too much to ask since we haven't met face to face and all:)haha!

Pamela, thank you for the bread advice also, I plan to look up the site you gave me but truly it may take a miracle before I get it. It could happen right!

You're a blessing, Thank you!
