Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

My Proverbs 31 Woman

I have found a wife of noble character!
She is truly worth far more than rubies.

I have full confidence in her
because she lacks nothing of value.

She has brought me good, not harm,
for the 16 years, and counting, that we have been together.

She gets up while it is still dark to update her many blogs;
thus wisely advising women all over the world in the way of YHVH’s Torah.

She places her bulk produce order,
saving us much money, and then…

She researches what to do with 50 pounds of quickly ripening kiwi fruit,
or finds new ways to serve zucchini 10 meals in a row.

She plans meals for Shabbat, diligently recording them on her menu on the fridge.
She leaves post-it-notes in big letters to remind us all to turn the crock pots on!!!

She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks, so nobody better get in her way.

She copies and assembles the appropriate home school
resources for children of every age, then binds them. (The lessons -- not the children.)

She sees that her children are educated and wise,
and that all of our Hebrew lessons are progressing.

In her hand she always holds the proper kitchen tool for the job,
and scolds those of us who dare use her special Cutco scissors as screwdrivers.

She opens her home to the multitudes,
and is wise in using paper plates and cups.

When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for we have 50 full totes of clothes for every size and every season.

She makes her own custom greeting cards herself;
for she owns every possible craft-making gadget imaginable.

I seem to be respected at the city gate,
which isn’t a really high bar in Summertown, TN.

Her children do not fear cuts, burns, bruises, nor chiggers
as she has mastered the art of the homemade herbal salve.

She cuts the family's hair herself, saving us $20 per head,
but more importantly – we don’t look homeless or Amish!

She can sew, stitch, and even embroider in a pinch;
keeping our socks and the seats of our pants presentable and modest.

She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come, and even harder at the days past.

She watches over her keifer grains, and is faithful
to feed them on schedule so they grow and remain creepy-looking.

Her children arise after much coaxing, and I call her blessed;
I praise her and prepare her morning cup of coffee.

Many women can ride an ATV at top speed,
but few can keep their head-covering on.

She dresses modestly, displaying no unnecessary skin,
yet still manages to be irresistibly attractive.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears YHVH is to be praised.

She is able to manage all aspects of her household,
while still keeping her quick toddler out of the garbage can and toilet.

See her match colors perfectly to decorate, arrange, rearrange, and re-rearrange our rooms,
while not complaining about the cardboard walls in our unfinished upstairs bedrooms.

Many women own fancy electronic label makers,
but you out-label them all!

Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

I love you, Pamela.
Happy Anniversary.

Your DH,

Ben

OK...All you who commented here saw this before me! :-)

Thats my man. The ATV /headcovering things made me LOL and brought tears of laughter to my eyes. :-)

I read this as I am shut in my room, dressed in flannel (no tiechel!) sipping STRONG garlic broth and being nebulized (theives essential oils). Isn't it romantic??!!

Everyone was "acting funny" this morning, Elijah eagerly brought me the computer to keep me company and they all keep poking their heads in here. My daughter made us a card that said she would "hold down the fort" if we wanted to go out to eat. (WOW! She growing up!)

I am blessed and so thankful for my tribe! You are all such a blessing and encouragement to me so too!

URG! We just got a call from a truck driver...OUR COOK STOVE IS HERE! OVER A MONTH EARLY! (The Amish didn't even cash our check yet!) Time to hop up and get dressed and get it ready. This stove is a cast iron beast! I'll take pictures and post the process for everyone. :-)
