Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

Our School in Haiti Part 1

This school is the other half of our orphanages' project in Haiti. It is an outreach the the small town in which our orphanage lies, called Tia Mache. It is the other half of the plantation. This program is a school program, which educates children in the village. It provided them with uniforms, supplies and two meals a day. It cost $365 a year per student to provide this. There are no public schools in Haiti, as a result, almost 90% percent of the population is uneducated, because there is not enough money to go when you struggle to eat! This program searched for donors to sponsor children. (I am waiting for information to share.) They are also working to drill wells in the town so they no longer have to drink, bathe and wash in the same ditch along side the road for their drinking and cooking water! They are trying to put up another a building to accommodate the need. They have 500 children who want to get in the program this year.

In the mean time, here is a blog from one of the volunteers serving down there right now. She is training the teachers.
