Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

Ushpizin

" I laughed, I cried, I got a stiff neck from reading the subtitles. This is a heart warming film that glorifies the Father!! So worth it - a classic - I give it *****!" review by MommySetFree

Ushpizin means "guests" loosely translated from Hebrew.

This is a WONDERFUL film we are blessed to have in our family collection. It has won many awards. It is set in modern day times and is about a couple in Jerusalem, living in an Orthodox community, (he is a rabbi) who is struggling with life issues as they receive unexpected secular acquaintances from the past as guests for Sukkot. It is a rich film filled with faith, struggle and real people. ( I don't want to give any of the story away!) We all loved it!

A knowledge and understanding about the holiday and culture will make this film even more delightful, but it is not necessary.

It is rated PG for thematic elements. We weren't quite sure what that meant. It seems that they were referring to the conflicts in the film that kept arising. Parents please review materials, because our opinions may be different on what is appropriate for children. There is a couple displays of violent tempers as well as a some drinking of alcohol which may bother some people. We pre-screen things for our children steer clear of most of Hollywood/Disney, etc. We tend toward religious and documentary viewing. We felt this was appropriate and allowed our reading children to watch it. (They loved it.)
