Welcome to Home Shalom!

Welcome to Home Shalom and Shalom Farm. We pray your visit here be blessed. We are learning to walk in the Ways (Torah) of our Father YHWH and follow Y'shua, His Messiah until He returns to "set things straight". We call it a "Messi-Life". Our walk is neither tidy nor perfect, but it is filled with passion, devotion and desire to serve our King. We are learning to be humble servants, and to be good stewards of the things that He has entrusted to us: His Word, our marriage, our children, our family, our community, our health, and our farm. Hitch your horse and stay a while--our door is always open!

Getting Personal

This week I have "retired" our personal family blog. It was password protected and private for close friends and family. We started it a couple years ago when were in the adoption process and starting our move out of state so everyone could keep updated. In the last six months we have only posted a handful of time, there.

I have always been pretty protective of my kids, and when it comes to the Internet that is no exception. I just don't post about our daily haps like many folks do...but it seems that YHVH is changing my mind in regards to that. I still feel very protective (I pray that never changes),but bit by bit...He is loosening me up in this way. A couple months ago I posted our family picture (don't laugh - "you are calling that loose?"), and couple weeks ago, I tried out posting our "Weekly Jots and Tiddles" on the side bar...thinking it would only be up for a couple of days at a time (Again...don't laugh!). However with the recent decision to retire the family site and still wanting to stay connected with family and friends from a afar in a practical way...I am thinking we will start incorporating more daily reflections which include my children/personal family life more often.

I am just NOT the kind to chats on the phone or calls her mom/dad every week (let alone every day or for any little thing). I know both my mom, dad and brother wish I were! I guess I am just really "independent" that way. I email but I am pretty "focused" it needs to have a "purpose". I am not a "chatterer" (although I Can talk! Hard to explain, because I LOVE people and LOVE to "go deep" and love to spend face to face time with friends and family! It is one of my favorite things on earth...it is my "love language"), but I am just not wired like most women in that "need to chat" kind of way...but YHVH is showing me, it is time for me to share some of the "little things". More of those "Jots and Tittles" in our lives...so, while I am sure there will be no shortage of recipes, studies and long reflective thoughts on Scripture in the future...it appears that I will be sharing more of "the little things" of our family life, its time to get more personal.

I have removed the Jots and Tiddles from the side bar for this week as I compile it daily behind the scenes. I will post it on Sundays as a weekly update of our previous week. This will also also people to comment or ask questions, which you couldn't do when it was in the side bar. So...until then.... :-)

Much Love,

I am so excited! Your jots and titles are one of my favorite reasons to visit your blog. I have enjoyed reading those tidbits on your sidebar {and reading them to my dh occasionally} Btw, the one on the gross out moment with the baby and the slug had me cracking up every time I thought of it!

Blessings to you as Yah gives you wisdom and peace in sharing!
